August 2008 UPDATE

Arrow Truck SalesArrow Truck Sales
Expands Locations, Moves Facilities.

KANSAS CITY, MO - Arrow Truck Sales Inc., North America's leading source of pre-owned heavy and medium-duty trucks, has announced the relocation of its Los Angeles, CA store and the opening of new satellite retail locations in both their Chicago, IL and Tampa, FL markets.
According to Carl Heikel, Arrow's President and CEO, these moves were
strategic in nature. "In each of these markets, we were looking for greater visibility and more convenient access to our retail locations.
Following a comprehensive review of business demographics in each of
these markets, we determined these actions were in the best interest of
our customers and our company."
Effective July 1, Arrow's Whittier, CA store was re-located to 7433 E.
Telegraph Road in Montebello, CA into a newly-renovated location. "We're now much more centrally-located in an industrial area just minutes away from downtown L.A., " said Kevin Cassens, Branch Manager of the new Montebello store. Kevin added, "The new store offers convenient access to Interstate 5 and is located between Slausen Avenue and the Garfield Exit."
Lee Wallace, Sr. V.P., Sales & Marketing continued, "We're very excited
about this recent move and are looking forward to serving new customers
in the area."
With continued growth at Arrow's Bolingbrook, IL location, the company
is planning to open a second, satellite store in the Chicago, IL market
at 2090 N. Manheim Road in the Melrose park area just three miles from
O'Hare International Airport. According to Arrow's Lee Wallace, this
new location should come on-line on or before October 1st. "The
Chicagoland area has been a vibrant market for us for some time now, so
expanding our presence there just made good business sense. Kevin
Buehner will continue to serve as Branch Manager for both locations," said Wallace.
In addition to its 301 Highway location in Tampa, FL, Arrow has announced the opening of a second Tampa store at 6025 Adamo Drive. This new location is centrally-located within the Tampa Market. "We saw an opportunity to re-locate to an area already served by several other truck dealers," said Wallace. "Since truck buyers already frequent this area, we've simply made it more convenient for customers to shop Arrow's extensive inventory. Brock Whetstone will continue to serve as Branch Manager for both Tampa locations," said Wallace.
"The opening of new retail stores, and the moving of others to more visible locations, is in keeping with our continued growth strategy in key markets across the country," said Carl Heikel. "It's really all about serving our customers more efficiently and conveniently."

Women In Trucking

Jeana Hysell joined the Women In Trucking Association last year because she wanted to network with other women who have found success in the trucking industry. Now, Jeana has become a role model by being named the first Ohio Trucking Association’s Safety Professional of the Year award. This distinction was earned by setting an example as a trucking company safety manager who has exhibited outstanding efforts in the industry.

Hysell is currently the Safety Director for Classic Carriers, Inc. in Versailles, Ohio. After serving in the military, she entered the trucking industry as a professional driver, and has more than two million accident free miles. She is active in safety and image committees, and serves the Ohio Trucking Safety Council. Her passion in furthering the goals of Women In Trucking is evident, as she has chosen to use the $1,000 honorarium received to help other women find success in the trucking industry by setting up a scholarship for women with the help of the Association. “Women In Trucking represents not just women but equality within the transportation industry to help educate and pursue successes,” said Hysell. “I would have not been able to receive this type of award if it wasn’t for the drivers who allowed me to shine and for all the women in this industry that were before me and after.”

“Jeana has set an example, not only for her peers in the area of safety, but for all women who are already or are considering a career in transportation,” said Ellen Voie, President/CEO of Women In Trucking, Inc. “We are honored that she has chosen to use her award to assist other women so that they can find success in this industry.”

Women In Trucking, Inc. (www.WomenInTrucking.org) was established to encourage the employment of women in the trucking industry, promote their accomplishments and minimize obstacles faced by women in trucking. Formed in 2007, the organization already has nearly 1100 corporate and individual members (men and women) to encourage women to succeed in the trucking industry.

Truck Drivers National Health “Walk a Mile America"

Walk A Mile AmericaHealthy living is a popular theme throughout society, but it's a theme that has often been ignored in the commercial trucking industry. The image of the commercial truck driver is not one of fitness and health. Truck drivers are dying 10 to 15 years earlier than the rest of society. The biggest causes of premature death among drivers of commercial vehicles are stress related heart attacks, obesity, and diabetes. All of these debilitating illnesses affect the bottom line of all companies through increased insurance and job loss replacement.

With new studies finding that healthy drivers are safer drivers; and with the possibility of DOT setting up on site blood pressure testing at their scales, we see a lot of truck company management eyebrows being raised. It's not that truck companies haven't tried, we have seen many companies initiate corporate fitness programs and install gyms at some of their terminals; however, participation in these programs by over-the-road truck drivers unfortunately, yet not surprisingly, is almost non-existent. After all, this is a group of men and women that make their living by driving the roads of America. Stopping at a terminal for over 75% of the drivers to visit a free gym 3 times a week is virtually impossible.

Through our years of serving this industry we have compiled a list of health issues the trucking industry should be addressing immediately, but more importantly, we also learned that truck drivers, like the general public, are being bombarded with ads, potions and promises of products that will keep them awake, take care of their stress or cover up the symptoms of a painful illness, and not provided with information and assistance on how to deal with he cause of the real problem. After all, once you know your blood pressure is high, you don't need 3 more readings to tell you that you need to do something about it. You need to learn how to address the PROBLEM, its causes and where to get supportive help. Truck Stop Events still believes drivers want to be educated on good health products and they still want programs they can use as over the road drivers.

Truck Stop Events is a non-profit health and wellness tour serving over 25 truck plazas, 5 different state rest areas and 5 truck shows. Truck Stop Events wants to do something about the information gap. So starting in 2008 we will begin our phase two program known as Walk a Mile America. With our help we're confident we can continue to spread the message of good health and wellness programs.

The “Walk a Mile America" programs will be offering free health testing programs, health related information, and some ways that truck drivers can motivate them selves (informational games like PENNY PINCHER) to get in shape or live a healthier truck driving life style.

With Walk a Mile America our goal is to give truck drivers the confidence, stamina, motivation, and incentive to walk their first mile. That may not sound like much to the average American, but to a great number of truck drivers a program of regular exercise added to their daily routine will be a huge accomplishment.

Walk A Mile America's 48' foot trailer is a moving information center that will administer to over 150,000 truck drivers annually in a classroom setting where basic health tests can be provided and health related information can be distributed. Through this program it is estimated that we will have contact with an estimated 500,000 walk, talk or e-mail drivers per year. For some drivers, it's an opportunity to meet with thousands of other drivers sharing related health problems and gain the benefits derived from working towards a goal while in the midst of their peers.

We hope that we've interested you enough to at least visit our website
www.walkamileamerica.com.

Here's to a healthy America and healthy truck drivers. Thanks for your time!
